A Boat for the Huni Kuin Village Aldeia Mae Bnae
In the Amazon, rivers are the roads, and a boat is what keeps life moving.
In the Amazon, forest communities carry ancient knowledge and a deep spiritual bond with the land. Their way of life protects rivers, trees, and sacred territories and reminds us of our shared connection with the Earth.
The Huni Kuin people are guardians of the forest. For generations, they have lived in deep reciprocity with nature, protecting biodiversity, water sources, and ancestral lands that are vital not only for their community, but for the balance of the planet.
This campaign supports the community of Aldeia Mae Bnae, whose name translates to “New Earth.”
Why this boat is essential
For the Aldeia, a boat is not a luxury. It is a lifeline.
Rivers are the only roads. Without a reliable boat, reaching medical care, schools, or supplies can take many hours or even days and often involves real risk.
When someone falls ill or children need to travel to school, everything depends on safe river transport.
About this campaign
This campaign seeks support to acquire a boat for the community guided by Makari, a young spiritual leader who represents his people, culture, family, and ancestral traditions. He is carrying this responsibility for today and for future generations.
