Support James Holden on his long road ahead❤️

Hello everyone. My name is Katy, most may not know me but I was blessed enough to grow up with James, Howard, Caroline, and Matthew Holden as the best siblings and only child could ever ask for. I lived in a small trailer park with these guys for over a decade, went through all of elementary with them by my side and today at 31 have always held this beautiful family in my heart, they have always been my second family.

Trying to piece my words together is absolutely heart-shattering but as everyone may know James Holden was involved in an auto accident early Christmas morning. From what he told Howard his truck had gotten two flats and he pulled over to the left side of the highway. Sometime shortly after James was rear-ended by a semi truck and ejected from the vehicle. The accident left foreign material in his head, several neck fractures, and spinal injury. Howard showed up to the scene soon after with very little answer as to how this all took place

James was life flighted to Memphis regional One and has been in the trauma unit since December 25th 2024. He was sent immediately into life saving surgery in which they had to remove a fraction of his skull to allow the brain to swell and try to heal properly. He has been on a ventilator since Christmas Day. Over the last two weeks James has shown spontaneous movement in his arms and legs, during my visit with him he was very alert.. He opened his eyes, was looking around, I could tell he could hear us, he even moved his right side leg and foot for us. As of today 1/16/25 he was able to breathe on his own for 4.5 hours off the ventilator, and continues to make leaps and bounds. Having been told the worst was inevitable at first these small steps are true miracles to those who love James.

That being said his recovery will still take time and I'd like to help him as much as possible with future medical expenses, and anything that he will need to get back on his feet.

Also please visit James. The more in visits the better. The more often we are all in there talking to him and touching his hands and interacting with him, the faster he will bounce back I just know it. ❤️
