Support the Hoard Family

On March 27, 2023, after a prolonged hospital stay, Dana (Dan) Hoard was diagnosed with advanced-stage of Antiplastic Thyroid Carcinoma. Antiplastic Thyroid Carcinoma is a very rare and very aggressive cancer that is diagnosed in less than 300 patients in the U.S. annually. Doctors told us usually kills the person so fast they never know they have it. However Dan lost his voice and that is how he found out he had it. The tumor was pressing in on his right vocal cord and has paralyzed it.

Our hearts ache for Dan, and his two amazing boys, Daniel 17 and Davis 12. Immediately after his diagnosis, Dan began chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The family is currently exploring every treatment option possible, including clinical trials. We now have found out that the cancer has metastasized throughout his body with the lungs taking the largest hit. Now he sits, unable to work with medical and regular bills piling up. Once with a thriving Irrigation company for 42 years now closed due to no one that can run it.

During this challenging chapter, we’re looking for ways to support the family. The financial and emotional burden of Dan’s ongoing medical treatment and the additional childcare required to support the boys is significant.
