We are heartbroken to share the passing of Scott Hnis, a beloved member of the Kings Park community. At just 56 years old, Scott was a proud father, a loving husband, and a friend to so many whose lives he touched with his warmth and kindness.

Scott’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was the adoring father of Emily and Thomas, always cheering them on from the sidelines of lacrosse games and sharing countless days fishing together on the Long Island Sound. Whether it was casting a line, offering quiet encouragement, or simply soaking up the beauty of Kings Park, Scott created memories that will stay with his children forever.

He loved his wife, Chrissy, with all his heart. Together, they built a life grounded in devotion, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family. To know Scott was to know his deep pride in the people he loved and his passion for the town he called home. He was easy to be around and had the best laugh—one that could light up a whole room.
