Support the Hendricks Family After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
Hello friends and family. Early this morning at 4am on Tuesday 8/13, our best friend for many moons, Raquel Hendricks (Damico) aka Rocky (Bellaire, TX/ Bellaire High School C/O 1998, and her husband Darrell from Luling,TX woke to a shed fire in their backyard out of Bryan/College Station, Texas. In that shed was their entire woodworking business, Hendricks Woodcrafts (Facebook). They have been working hard to get that off the ground and the ball had just started rolling by working/selling at many local events as well as online orders. The shed, woodworking equipment, tools, materials, and laptop, as well as a few orders they were working on getting out, were burned to the ground. Due to the fire, it also caused damage to the fence which was the neighbor's fence and they have dogs, so it's an urgent matter.
They made a few repairs as a temporary solution but it's still open. Being a one-income family as they raise their daughter who is almost 4, things are tight. Insurance will take some time and the only thing possibly covered is the shed but in order to do any of that, as y'all know, you have to pay a deductible which in their case is $1500. While we thank God everyone is okay and no damage to their main home nor any damage to any neighbors' homes, we are forever grateful for that. Over the past 4 years or more, things have been tough on this family for many reasons. This past year, the Hendricks family has really been rocked which led their relationship to grow with God and help strengthen mind, body, and spirit.
Darrell works full-time as a Butcher and he has been with the company for over 20 years. Raquel went from retired chef to stay-at-home Mom so she can give Vicky the best care. While the total goal may seem high, just consider the prices of everything needing to be replaced:
1. Fencing & Shed
2. Wood Machine for Carving
4. Tools/Materials
5. Laptop
6. Insurance deductible
May you all consider donating for this family so they can get back to production and selling their handmade woodwork and art as we would be forever grateful.
Sincerely,
Monica (BFF)
