Our beloved school is in danger of closing due to unexpected shortfalls.
This summer, The Hedge School experienced an unexpected loss of enrollment that created a financial shortfall beyond what our small school could absorb. Before asking our community for help, our teachers and school leadership made difficult sacrifices, reducing salaries and programming by more than $60,000 in order to keep the school moving forward.
Now we are asking for your support. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help bridge this unexpected gap and ensure that The Hedge School can continue serving children and families in our community.
Whether you are a local business, a neighbor, a grandparent, a former family, or someone who believes children deserve an education rooted in connection, nature, and belonging, your gift will make a meaningful difference. Every donation helps preserve this special place for the children who learn here today and for those who will come through our doors in the years ahead.
Asking for gifts of $20, $50, $100. Thank you- from the bottom of our hearts.
The Hedge School is a locally owned, independent elementary school in Sandpoint, Idaho, created in response to a growing need we see in today's children. As the pace of childhood has accelerated and the pressures on young people have increased, we have worked to offer something different: an education that nourishes rather than overwhelms.
Our students spend meaningful time immersed in nature, engage in a thoughtful curriculum that cultivates curiosity and wonder, and grow within a community where belonging is at the heart of learning. We believe every child has unique gifts to offer, and that education should help children discover those gifts while learning how to contribute them to the world around them. Our classrooms are places where children build resilience, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong relationship with the natural world.
