Support the Heaton Family After Hurricane Helene in N.C.

In the wake of Hurricane Helene's devastation in NC, Greg and Jessica, along with their kids Amy and Kyle, have lost their home and all their belongings, but their spirits remain unbroken. With Greg already out the day after Hurricane Helene helping others, this family is a

shining example of selflessness and love.

Unfortunately, this family had no flood insurance and will need financial assistance to build a new home. So many of you guys have rallied behind WNC over the past couple of weeks following Hurricane Helene and this is just another thing we can do together. Let’s help rebuild their home, a symbol of their strength and hope, and prove that together, we can create a brighter future for all!

A little history and a chance for you to get to know the Heaton family:

They were both born and raised in the Heaton community. They lived in Banner Elk from 2005 until they moved back to Heaton, 2 years ago. The home was Greg’s grandpa and grandma's home, Jim and Anne Heaton. After she passed, Greg & Jessica bought it and completely remodeled it inside and out. They basically had just finished and started to enjoy living there. Greg was very proud to bring back life to the home place. Jessica loved everything about it. She said she loved her home; not a night went by that she didn’t thank God for her little piece of heaven on earth. They loved being back closer to family and Jessica really enjoyed mowing her yard! Jessica stated, “It may sound silly but it was a huge flat yard and I just loved everything about it. I can barely stand to go by there and see it now, it’s just heartbreaking. I know it’s just a house but it was our home.”

Now to introduce myself, my name is Kristin Lusk and I am great friends with the Heaton family. Our daughters have been friends since they were in 3rd grade, now in 9th grade. We love this family so much, they are the absolute sweetest family.
