The Harrier's were impacted by Wednesdays EF3 tornado that ripped through Maury County south of Nashville. Miraculously, their home and vehicles received minor damage but the woods that surround their property are destroyed - leaving a very hazardous environment for their young family. Unfortunately, their home insurance will not cover tree removal - which is essential to even getting in & out of their home & estimated at over $80,000!
They are without power indefinitely & Joe has & will continue to loose work because he needs to stay home & help with cleanup. A family in their church has graciously stepped in with equipment & volunteering their time to help clear the land but it's a huge undertaking. Friends are on the property all weekend with chainsaws helping clear brush & piling up debris but they need our support! Tree removal is extremely dangerous work & they're facing months of DIY labor.
We all know Joe is MacGyver & the hardest worker out there but cleanup is only the first step. There will be many costs associated with this process - from renting machinery to bringing in crews that can take down the widow-makers & other large trees that are broken but still standing, to mulching & burning debris, etc. After cleanup, let's help restore the Harriers land by re-planting trees, replacing the kids broken swing set & trampoline as well as assisting with income from the work Joe has lost.
Anything helps & sweat equity is certainly appreciated if you do not have the resources to donate. Please send a private message if you can assist with labor, borrow machinery, bring over food, etc.
Let's show our beloved Harrier family some love!
