My name is Keriann Hansen, sister-in-law and Auntie Kay-Kay to this sweet family. This fundraiser is to support the Hansen family - Dylan, Carissa, Ollie, Livy, and Oaklie. Livy was admitted to Blank last Thursday, January 23rd, for complications from influenza A. The whole family, alllll five of them, had influenza the whole week before. Livy was visibly struggling to get over the sickness, so after several trips to urgent care and a regularly-scheduled appointment with her doctor, she was sent and admitted to the ER for low oxygen. In a turn of events none of us were anticipating, we’re at six days later with a transfer to the PICU, and the doctors are guessing at another three weeks admitted in the hospital.
Carissa is staying with Livy at the hospital 24/7, as planned. Dylan has been going back and forth daily so he can be with Livy all day and stay at home with Ollie overnight to keep some level of normalcy for him. And Baby Oaklie is spending her days with her grandparents for the time being. Physically speaking, the other two kids are taken care of. While Dylan has a great job, he is not afforded much paid time off work. That’s where this GoFundMe comes into play. Dylan was planning to go to work Monday because all seemed okay. Progress had been slow but still progress, and then Livy had a bad night overnight. Of course, he and Ollie went back to the hospital Monday. Dylan was again planning to go to work Tuesday due to Livy having a decent day Monday, and Livy had a worse night overnight. He went to the hospital again Tuesday. At this point we all know he needs to be with his family as long as needed without the stress of going to work and paying their bills. And while they’d like you all to know they’ll figure it out and be okay if not a single person donates, any financial assistance would be a major blessing as well.
My goal in setting up this GoFundMe is that their monthly home bills would be taken care of (mortgage, utilities, insurances, etc.), their gas, extra meals, and other expenses related to living in a hospital room would be taken care of, their actual hospital expenses when they start coming due would be taken care of, and so that when they do get released to go home, they can pick up right where they left off without having to play catch-up for months or years to make up for however long this trial lasts them.
And last but most certainly not least, prayers – would you pray for Livy’s healing; for peace and comfort that surpasses all understanding for her and her family in the waiting; for wisdom, guidance, and compassion for all the medical staff; and for God’s name to be glorified through this period of suffering. We appreciate your love and concern for this beautiful family.
