Support the Hanf Family's Recovery Journey

My name is Mike Hanf. I have created this GoFundMe page for my uncles and cousins impacted by Hurricane Helene.

On Friday, September 27th the lives of families across Western North Carolina were changed forever by the devasting effects of Hurricane Helene.

Three of those families were Phil and Nancy Hanf, Mark Hanf, and Kristin and Ben Emslie. On their property, they have a main residence and several cabins they rent out using Airbnb.

Helene brought down roughly 20 trees on their property. 5 of those landed on two of their cabins and 2 on their large trailer.

As a result of Helene, they are expecting a significant loss of rental income (~$20K-$30K) and rebuilding costs (~$5K-$10K) that won't be covered by insurance.

Despite the challenges they and their community are now facing, the Hanf's have been focused on taking the sour lemon that Helene had to offer and turning it into something resembling lemonade.

They were fortunate in that their main residence had minimal damage and their water well is operating and not contaminated. As a result, they are pumping drinking water for neighbors. In addition, they have been actively involved in delivering countless other supplies to those in need.

This GoFundMe page is set up to help the Hanf family rebuild and replace lost income from Hurricane Helene.
