Support the Hamelin family fight Leukemia

Acute Myelogenous Leukemia is the diagnosis Dan Hamelin received Feb 12 2021.  Here’s the story. Dan’s been feeling unwell since mid-Dec with flu like symptoms. He also developed a tooth infection in Jan which took weeks to fights off. After some fainting spells and still feeling unwell he sought medical help and was admitted to Timmins and District Hospital Feb 5 and received the life-threatening diagnosis. He was flown to Sudbury Health Sciences North to seek treatment immediately. Dan is expected to stay in Sudbury for 4-6 weeks for chemotherapy treatments and expected to have a  long recovery. Dan’s family, loving wife Rachel, and sons Daniel 14 and Radan 10, and beloved dog Tampa are shaken by this news but they are determined to get through it together. They will receive emotional support from friends and family but as we all know life is not cheap. A life event like this can be financially devastating, so we are asking for your generous donations to help with their travel costs back and forth from the hospital (which is 4 hours away), food for the family, emotional support for the entire family, and of course the mortgage and bills!

Dan is a wonderful father, husband, son, co-worker and friend. He is strong, energetic, hard-working. He is funny, generous, caring, and the life of the party. He’s already making friends on his hospital floor and joking with the staff, that’s Dan…lol
