Hello,
As many of you know, the Hals have gone through a very trying last couple of months. What some may not know is that Greg was diagnosed with MS about a year ago, and has been unable to work for nearly two years due to some medical issues. In late November, just before Thanksgiving, Greg, Jenny, and Jackson all contracted COVID-19. During that time, Jenny was being evaluated for a suspicious lump in her breast. Within the first week of Jenny having COVID, she received the dreaded phone call "Breast Cancer". Since the beginning of her diagnosis, Jenny has been strong and ready to fight head-on. A few days after that phone call, Greg's COVID took a turn for the worst. He became significantly short of breath, lost consciousness, and was taken to Sutter Santa Rosa Hospital by ambulance. Greg's prognosis was questionable upon admission to the ICU and for a few weeks following. He was Septic, he had COVID Pneumonia, multiple secondary infections, and he had a significant number of blood clots in his lungs. While Greg fought in the ICU, Jenny had all of her diagnostic tests, consultations, port placement, and her first chemotherapy infusion. Greg spent a total of 38 days in the hospital- the majority of his time in the ICU. He fought HARD, and he is HOME! Greg is doing well but has a long road of rehabilitation ahead. Jenny has five more chemotherapy infusions (over the period of 5 more months), surgery, and radiation treatment.
So many people are asking how they can help and what they can do. First of all, the Hals have no idea that this Go Fund Me is being started. Second of all, I want to personally thank you- all of you, for your prayers, your love, and the support that you have given to each member of this amazing family. As you can imagine, with both Greg and Jenny fighting in their own medical battles, they have a LOT on their plates. This Go Fund Me was created to financially support them with missed work, medical bills, and unforeseen life events. My goal is for them to be able to completely focus on healing and getting back to living the life that both of them love to live to the fullest.
Thank you!
