Support the growth of Oxford High's Broadcast Club

This past fall, several students at Oxford High School started a Sports Broadcasting Club (The Wolverine Club). In just a few months, nearly a dozen students have joined the club and are now meeting regularly. These students hope to gain valuable experience in communications and broadcasting in a fun, hands-on manner. To date, they have taken on press box announcements at several football and soccer games. They were even featured on WTNH! Their next goal is to begin live broadcasting Oxford High School sporting events online.

This will help them to gain valuable experience in event preparation, on-air commentating, and editing. This will benefit the students in the club as well as provide an entertaining way for out-of-town parents, grandparents, and friends to view the student athletes' competitions. It would also provide college coaches the opportunity to get a closer look at OHS student athletes that they may be recruiting.

To take the next steps, the club will need approximately $3,500 for the basic equipment needs like cameras, microphones, tripods, headsets, and the streaming modules (encoders). Let's help get this club off to a great start and become a legacy program for the kids at OHS for years to come!
