Support the Grimaldis: Recovering from Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Hi everyone. As many of you are aware, Hurricane Helene devastated so many communities this past week. My parents, Robert and Donna Grimaldi, live in Port Richey FL and have lost about 90% of their belongings after their home flooded. All of their furniture, appliances and personal items gone... their home is no longer livable. They did evacuate as ordered and thankfully they are safe. But their home is ruined and we are unsure what the future holds for it at this time.
My parents are very resilient and though they do not want to ask for help, I feel like this is a situation that calls for it. My dad is a retired disabled veteran and has dealt with extensive medical issues the past few years as many of you know. He is also a Shrine clown and has volunteered his time for 25+ years to raise money for the Shriner Childrens Hospitals. And if you know my mom, you know she is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. She goes above and beyond to care for the people around her and never lets anyone go hungry (And if you were lucky, you've received a bowl of her famous chicken and dumplings). She gives her all without expecting anything in return. I feel like its their turn to receive a helping hand and support.
My parents dream was to move to Florida, retire and enjoy time with family and this is heartbreaking for them and we all feel helpless. Unfortunatley, like many others, they do not have home insurance. All money donated will be used to help them replace items they have lost and help with a down payment for a new place to live. Anything helps and if you cannot donate, please share! Thank you
