Hello family and friends, it is with a heavy but also a joyful heart that I tell you Curt passed last night in our home. Joyful because I know he is no longer in pain nor suffering and he is now filled with joy as he was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ-he is fully restored in the Lord. Heavy heart because I and the kids will miss him immensely. He was always a pillar of strength, steadfast, hardworking, and he loved and protected us. We could always count on him; he was loyal and honest, and he loved the Lord. He was the best husband and father, and I told him this often. He left this earth knowing how very much he was loved.
In his final hours, I kept telling him it was ok to go and to hug Jesus tight, and to meet his dad and brother at a lake and go fishing. So many waiting to greet him and welcome him home. I can only imagine the celebration and reunion they all had. I asked him to hug my mom, dad, and sister, and tell everyone hello. To play some poker with Uncle Mike, Grandma Leta, and Big Grandpa. He didn't speak but he was nodding his head yes. I whispered, "I love you" and he was able to say the same back to me- these were his last words, and I will cherish them forever.
Jamie and Nick were able to come be with us at the house until the funeral home came and picked him up. Nick, you are a blessing of a son-in-law and I thank God for the strong man that you are. Jamie will need you and I so appreciate all that you have done and continue to do for our family. Cole was here yesterday during the day and has been helping me around the house a lot. I am so very blessed by my children and want to thank them for all the support and endless tasks they have done to take care of their father and me. This journey has been hard on them, and l am so very proud of them.
I will be making arrangements for his funeral in the next few days and will update you all as soon as a date has been set. We are hoping that some of his family and friends from afar will be able to come, so I am thinking that the service will be sometime the week of July 22nd to give everyone a little time to plan.
Thank you to all who reached out to him and sent messages, I read every single one of them to him, and many of them brought tears. We have been blessed by you all that have loved, prayed, and supported us. Truly, we are so grateful. All our love!
John 11:25 Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live."
