Support The Godwin Family’s Recovery

Update: They will need multiple home renovations for Shelby’s wheelchair and those are NOT cheap! We have updated the goal amount for the GoFundMe! Shelby and Annaleigh both still have a long road ahead of them! Annaleigh will need PT, OT, & Neuro Therapy and Shelby will be going to Brooks Rehabilitation facility once he is finally released from the hospital. Amber will be out of work until further notice taking care of the two of them during this time! As we all know life still goes on, bills still have to be paid, & the rehabilitation facility is in Jacksonville which is a very long drive from Calhoun County. We want to relieve as much of the financial stress from them as possible!

On April 21st, 2025, Shelby Godwin and his 11 year old daughter, Annaleigh, were in a terrible head on collision when another vehicle swerved into their lane on Highway 20 just outside of Clarksville, FL. Shelby was life-flighted to Ascension Bay while Annaleigh was life-flighted to TMH. They placed Annaleigh in the ICU on a ventilator due to her not being able to breathe on her own at first. Since then her condition has changed drastically for the better. Annaleigh suffered head trauma/concussion, liver and spleen lacerations, bruised lungs, and a fractured pelvis. They are monitoring her closely in the ICU but are hopeful she will be released from the hospital soon and make a full recovery. Shelby is currently in the ICU with a broken back, 11 broken ribs, a broken femur, his liver was damaged, a broken ankle in two places and his hip socket was broken in half. He currently has no feeling or function from the waist down. This is going to be a very long road for recovery for them.

Shelby and Amber Godwin are parents to 3 beautiful daughters. They are the most loving and caring people you will ever meet. They would give you the shirt off their backs and help you in any way they could. To know them is to love them!

We are creating this GoFundMe in hopes that we can alleviate some of the financial aspects that this has created. They have a household to keep running, children to feed, gas for traveling back and forth to the hospitals as well as getting the children to school. Shelby will be out of work indefinitely as will Amber while she navigates doctors appointments, etc. They both will REQUIRE home modifications, special equipment as well as OT and PT. Shelby started a new job and just signed up for insurance so it has not kicked in yet. His employer T&S Solutions has went above and beyond for Shelby and his family and are continuing to do so.
