Help the Godwins—A Family Who's Spent Their Lives Helping Others
“Whatever you did for the least of these . . . you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
The Godwins have spent their lives living out this verse—adopting five children with special needs, and helping place hundreds of orphans from around the world into loving homes.
Now, they’re the ones in need.
Greg and Kristie Godwin are the parents of nine children, five of whom are adopted internationally and have special needs. For years, Greg helped run The Shepherd’s Crook, a nonprofit orphan ministry that placed disabled children from around the world into forever families. The ministry shut down most of its operations recently; consequently, Greg lost his job.
He’s spent months searching and applying—but doors haven’t opened. And just this week, his final unemployment appeal was denied. The family now faces an urgent financial crisis—with no income, and nine children depending on them.
Their life has been one of extraordinary compassion, radical obedience, and quiet sacrifice. But they’re not ones to quickly ask for help. So we’re asking on their behalf.
How You Can Help:
Pray: Ask the Lord to open a door for meaningful, stable work. (And if you have any way to help Greg network in seeking employment, here is his resumé you can take a look at.)
Give: Any amount helps with groceries, bills, and basic needs (their budget for a family of 11 is $5,000 in monthly expenses).
Share: Spread this campaign far and wide. The more who hear, the more who can help.
This family has opened their home—and their hearts—to the most vulnerable. Let’s open ours to them now.
