Since 1989, Laura Donefer has curated and cajoled award winning glass artists from around the world to create spectacular wearable works of glass art, then parade them down runways accompanied by music and the screams of hundreds (or thousands!) of enraptured fans.

There is a story behind every costume, and woven together these narratives reveal the rich and vibrant history of the international glass art community. From artists overcoming trauma to create works of singular beauty, to lifelong friendships formed in the backstage areas of the events, to a once-in-a-lifetime, outrageously ambitious and ever-so-slightly dangerous fashion show on boats in the canals of Murano, the Glass Fashion Show is a phenomenon unlike any other, led fearlessly by a femininomenon unlike any other.

Blue Sky Project Films has embarked on a project to document the wild and wonderful history of the Glass Fashion Show and its fierce founder, Laura Donefer. Through interviews, studio footage, archival video and more, this film will tell the story of a worldwide sensation and the amazing impact it has had on the lives of those it has touched.
