On behalf of Brendan and his family, after bravely battling cancer for 6 long years, we are heartbroken to share that his mother, Kathy Gilbert, passed away on October 18th, 2025, surrounded by her family. Her sudden loss has left an unimaginable void in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend — someone who brought warmth, laughter, and love wherever she went. Before her cancer diagnosis, she spent over 35 years as an ER nurse, dedicating her life to caring for others and putting everyone before herself.

As the family navigates this painful time, her sons are facing not only emotional heartbreak but also the financial challenges that come with such a sudden loss. I am creating this GoFundMe to help ease some of those burdens — to assist with funeral expenses, household costs, and to provide financial support for the children as they adjust to life without their mom.
