Our family is going through an unexpected and challenging time, and we’re reaching out for support on behalf of my sister Cayla and her family.
During a high-risk ultrasound in her first trimester, Cayla found out she was having a TRAP sequence pregnancy for mono mono twins. She went through an in utero surgery at 18 weeks to save her one viable baby. Since then, she has continued to face many high-risk complications that have put both her and her baby girl at risk.
Cayla has been in and out of the hospital during her pregnancy, while doctors work to keep both her and the baby safe. While this is an incredibly emotional and stressful time, her focus has been — as always — on her family and doing everything possible to protect her pregnancy.
Due to the ongoing hospitalizations visits, and bed rest both at home and for long durations in the hospital, her husband has had to take time off work to care for their two girls and manage everything at home. While this time together is invaluable, the loss of income has created a significant financial strain on top of mounting medical expenses and daily living costs.
Asking for help does not come easily to Cayla or Nick. They are hardworking, loving parents who would much rather be the ones helping others. However, during this season, support from friends, family, and community would mean the world to them.
Any contribution — no matter the amount — will help ease the financial burden so they can focus on what truly matters. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping them in your thoughts and prayers is just as appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
With gratitude,
Alyssa
