The Giambrones are a one of kind family. If you haven’t had the chance to meet them… you’re missing out! They joined our softball family fall of 2024. Sal, Erin and their daughter Ella have been such a great addition to this team. Sal helps coach our Unity 12U team and when he’s not dramatically throwing the safe sign at 1st base, he’s volunteering his time with our Centercourt league. Erin captures the action on the field with her camera and helps with our graphics and social media on Facebook and instagram. Ella of course, is a force behind the plate! She’s a beast on that field!

As most of you know, our Unity Team recently traveled to Oklahoma to play in a tournament. The Giambrones packed up their family car, offered to lug all of our equipment and make the 22 hour trek across the US!

Unfortunately, on May 29th while on their way to the field to play our first pool play game, the Giambrones were rear ended, sending their car across the road into on coming traffic. The damage was extensive and totaled their vehicle. Thankfully, everyone walked away but not without some serious bumps bruises and pain. Their daughter Ella received 28 stitches to both inside and outside of her mouth.

Now to pick up the pieces. They were 22 hours from home, without their vehicle and all local rental car shops were low on inventory. Of course our softball family chipped in anyway we could in addition to uber but any additional help would be greatly appreciated. To go from what should be a happy week of playing ball, watching the softball college World Series and enjoying family time and team bonding, turned into stress, turmoil and the thought of what’s next. A new car, insurance claims, hospital bills and lawyer fees.

After everything they went through in a matter of hours, the Giambrones remained positive, & kept smiles on their faces because that’s who they are. Positive, happy, goofy, caring, loving individuals who would give the shirt off their back to anyone in need. I’m hoping we can all return the favor in their time of need. No donation is too small. All funds donated to the Giambrones will help ease the financial strain and burden they are currently facing with these additional expenses they have incurred from the accident.
