Support the Gerbino’s Heart Surgery Journey

As many of you know, Colleen and Jason recently welcomed their 3rd son, James Paul. James was born with several serious congenital heart conditions, which he will be having several surgeries for, including open-heart surgery. As scary as this all sounds, Colleen and Jason found comfort in their faith and the care team that their sweet son would be under at Yale. They especially felt confident in their doctor, who they came to know and trust so well. In a twist of events, that doctor has had an accident and is now unable to perform the surgery. Luckily, Yale is making sure James will still be able to have all the medical care he needs; however, this will all have to be done at Columbia, with a different care team, in a different state.

James will now be in recovery at Columbia for an unknown amount of time. This has to be incredibly stressful for Colleen and Jay! There will also be so many unforeseen costs due to this change. They will be traveling to see James daily, if not needing to find lodging. There will be parking, gas, lots of meals on the road, I’m sure. All while they also raise and give plenty of attention to their two other little boys, Conor and Ronan.

Let’s ease any burden for Colleen and Jay and give them a cushion to focus on the (now much longer) road ahead for James. Prayers are also much appreciated as they take on this journey.
