Support the Ganges Project: Clean Water for All
As both Bangladeshi and Indian high school students, we have seen first-hand accounts of the sanitation and flooding crises in both Bangladesh and India. Whether it was through our family, friends, or even news reports, we knew we had to help in some shape or form. With this information, we came up with the Ganges Project.
A project targeting villages and rivers that have become filled with impurities and other chemicals to protect villagers and locals from these impurities. By reading multiple news reports, researching the impacts of water impurities in both areas and hearing about the sanitation crisis in India and Bangladesh, we truly learned about the severity of the issue. We formed an idea to help those whom this catastrophe has possibly impacted.
With the Ganges Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we resolve to provide more advocating for the sanitation crisis in both countries through workshops targeted for kids to learn, which implement various water sanitation techniques—ranging from creating a water-bottle filter for impurities in water to providing kids with basic sanitation kits to help maintain daily sanitation through their daily-life—and educate them about the importance of sanitation in villages and cities alike. Additionally, we can ship valuable materials and necessities to surrounding villages by providing these local nonprofits with the proper materials for workshops and sanitation kits.
