Support the Galassini Family After Tom's Passing
Donation protected
Tom Galassini was a father of four. He lost his life to cancer at age 62 on September 24, 2024. His family is devastated and heartbroken. Tom was diagnosed with colon cancer in September 2023. His family truly thought, including Tom, that he was going to get through this difficult journey. After finishing his rounds of chemo early this year, it looked like he checked all the boxes. The big guy upstairs had a different plan for Tom. The cancer came back and spread aggressively. The family was quite optimistic at first. Things drastically changed these last few months. Every obstacle that could occur, did. It became clear these last few weeks that the road ahead would be challenging. Once Tom was admitted to hospice, his wife and four children held onto the possibility of a miracle. It didn't come. Unfortunately, Tom passed away being in hospice for 7 days.
The family is consumed with grief and are trying to figure out how they can manage through this transition without Tom. Even though his four children are adults now, Tom has been the breadwinner of the family. Tom handled all the expenses, even when sick. His children recognize that it is time for them to step up to be the people he has mentored them to be. Tom did everything for his family, and his children want to do everything for their mom. especially to help with any cancer treatment and hospice bills that were not covered by insurance. We are asking for your support to raise funds for Tom’s wife, Kathy - a preschool teacher, and his four children. After this tragic loss, the last thing the family wants for Kathy is any financial stress. These funds would be used to pay any outstanding medical bills and fill in a short-term gap until the family figures out a long-term plan.
The family thought about doing a GoFundMe months ago, but Tom was a proud and humble man. He was always the one to help others, not the other way around. He always knew others needed more than he did. Tom worked so hard for his family, and they do not want everything he worked for to get washed away. So, please think about making a contribution. No contribution is too small. Anything can make a world of difference to Tom’s family.
Last, but not least, it is an honor to tell you more about Tom Galassini. The world could not have asked for a better father, man or mentor. Without doubt, he made the world a better place. He walked his life with grace and a moral compass. He never wavered from his faith or what he knew was right. He was the epitome of selflessness. Tom was ALWAYS there for anyone who needed support, advice, a ride, help with taxes, or anything. Everyone else came first. He had endless energy and a positive attitude. He was the person that if he was going through the same rough patch as you, he'd be worried about you and check on you. He worked multiple jobs at a time for extra money. He dedicated his career to working at non-profit organizations to help others. He volunteered to head and contribute to many fundraisers and charities. It is no surprise Tom’s last wish was to donate his body to science to help others. He had the patience of no other. It is no wonder his wife Kathy loved him. Because of their love for one another, his children grew up with the most loving parents. Please consider supporting Kathy and her family during this time.
