Support the Frye Family's New Beginning: A Veteran in Need
Donation protected
Update: Kelley has started her new job and Cameron has an opportunity with the Sheriffs department starting in Feb. He has an interview on 12/10 for a more immediate position, which would start much sooner. One of you was kind enough to cover 5 more nights in the hotel and based on the number of donations coming in, I've instructed Cameron to start looking at apartments now. He almost has enough to cover a down payment and finally breath. Witnessing this generosity firsthand is incredible...thank you all!
My name is Peter Emerson and I’m seeking help for a US Army Veteran and family in need. This fundraiser is on behalf of Cameron Frye, his wife Kelley and their two kids ages 16 and 11. Cameron was one of my Combat Engineers in the 1138th Engineer Company (SAPPER) out of Farmington, MO. Cameron served more than 7 years in Missouri’s Army National Guard, to include an overseas deployment in 2014 with the 220th Engineer Company out of Festus, MO. He left the service in 2020 to help with his family’s business, but was later forced to change direction. He finds himself today in a position he cannot overcome on his own and I’m here to raise awareness so we can rally as a community around one of our own.
Last week, in a desperate move after failing to find work and being unable to renew their lease, Cameron’s family packed everything they owned and drove through the night to Arizona on a prayer for a better life. They relocated to Kelley’s hometown where immediately upon hitting ground, she secured new employment starting next week with a local Veterinary Clinic. Cameron had his first interview with the Maricopa County Sheriff department and has another interview scheduled for tomorrow. Their hopes are high, but they need help getting back on their feet while they secure employment and settle into this new life.
Cameron was soldier I was proud to have in my ranks and I look forward to seeing him rejoin when he’s ready. We’re not all blessed with a strong family support network and it’s times like this I’m most thankful for the family and friends to whom I’ve been blessed. No matter how often I fail, struggle, or fall, I have someone in my corner to help me up. Cameron once served us and now he and his family need our help. My hope with this campaign is to raise enough money for the family’s interim hotel while they find work as well as funds to secure an apartment for the next couple months while they get re-established (it would be great if they could have a little bit extra for Christmas as well).
