Why Are We Doing This Film?
We want to address a critical gap in historical representation by documenting the experiences of Filipino immigrant teens in the 1960-70's in San Francisco. This demographic, despite their significant contributions remains underrepresented in mainstream historical narratives.
Filipino Americans, particularly those who immigrated to San Francisco in the mid-20th century, have a rich but often overlooked history. Our stories of resilience, cultural adaptation, and community building in the face of racial discrimination are vital to understanding the broader social dynamics of the era.
