Hi everyone, my name is R-Marnei Williams, and I’m a Nottingham

born, London-based fashion designer and stylist. My work focuses on sculptural womenswear and emotional storytelling using clothing as a way to explore identity, healing, and release.

I’m raising funds to build a professional sewing and garment-making setup so I can take my work from an undergraduate designer into full industry-level production. I’ve recently been gifted an overlocker and already own a domestic sewing machine, which has been an amazing start. However, to produce garments that meet professional standards (strong structure, clean finishes, and durability) I now need an industrial sewing machine, a dress form mannequin, and essential tools to build the foundation for my brand.

This is crucial to me because I’m transitioning from education into professional practice: developing collections, creating samples for stylists and clients, and preparing garments for editorials, fittings, and future opportunities to sell. Having the right equipment will allow me to work independently, efficiently, and with confidence, without compromising the integrity of my designs.

How the funds will be used:

• A professional, pinnable dress form mannequin

• Pressing, and construction tools

• Core materials needed to develop and finish garments properly
