Support the Flitsch-Nally Family After the Eaton Fire

I'm Jen Wang, the co-president of the Aveson Community Organization (the PTA for Aveson Charter Schools). I'm organizing this GoFundMe for Byron Flitsch and his lovely family, who just lost their home to the Eaton Fire. Byron is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Aveson, a beautiful school in Altadena whose campuses were destroyed/damaged in the Eaton Fire as well, and so he's coping with a devastating personal loss while also working non-stop to help our entire community come back together in healing and learning. I'm making this GoFundMe in the hopes that it helps lighten his load. Your donations will go directly to him, his husband, and the extremely photogenic Dexter the dog. <3

I've gotten to know Byron this year while working on PTA business, and Byron is funny, warm, and kind, with a big laugh that brightens your day and a natural ability to connect to people and read a room. I believe he primarily works on curriculum and professional training, but I think for many educators, the real truth is that the work comprises anything and everything that the school needs, and those needs are many and various. Need a list of people who bought tickets for the musical? Byron. Want your child to learn about photography? Byron. Have a question about social-emotional development? Byron. Looking for feedback about whether a community event will meet a need in the right way? Byron. He's one of the special people that holds our beautiful school together, somebody you can count on, and I hope we can come together with his loved ones from outside school and let him count on us, too.
