My parents are suing us in what seems to be an effort to continue to exercise excessive control. Since attempting to go low/no-contact, out of protecting the peace within our own family (my husband and our children), they have responded legally instead of communicating in any healthy way. They are demanding custody of my children despite our ability to provide a safe and healthy environment. We fear my parents due to what they have and continue to put us through. We are trying to stand up to the abuse as they push their limits legally. We made it through the hearing, and the judge has since dismissed our case, as their party did not seem to have reasonable grounds. Despite this, my parents have been relentless in their efforts and decided to appeal the case. We are hoping for assistance as we continue to battle against our wishes and work towards relief from the chaos my parents have created in our lives. When it comes to abuse- physical, emotional, mental, and now legal- enough is enough.
