Hello, supporters of fair elections and democratic integrity,
We are Stephanie Beltinck, Shelly Lake, and Bonnie Gustavison, concerned citizens united in our dedication to upholding transparent and lawful voting processes in Michigan. Together, we’ve filed 5 formal complaints under the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) with the state of Michigan, challenging certain directives and practices by the Secretary of State’s office that we believe violate federal election standards. HAVA, enacted in 2002, establishes critical guidelines for election administration, including voter registration accuracy, accessible voting systems, and safeguards against irregularities to ensure every vote counts.
After thorough review, we’ve been granted an upcoming hearing to present our case, marking a vital step toward accountability and potential reforms. This hearing is an opportunity to address these issues directly and advocate for stronger compliance with HAVA provisions, benefiting all Michigan voters.
Pursuing this legal action, however, comes with significant costs. We’re seeking your support to cover attorney fees, court filings, expert consultations, and related expenses to prepare effectively for the hearing. Every donation, no matter the size, will help us build a strong case and fight for election integrity.
Your contribution is more than financial support—it’s a stand for justice and the rule of law in our electoral system. Together, we can make a difference. Thank you for standing with us!
Goal: $50k
Funds will be used exclusively for legal and filing expenses related to this and future HAVA complaint hearings.
