Support Matthew’s Fight Against APL Leukemia

Donation protected

On April 2nd, I was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL), a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. This diagnosis turned my world upside down, and life since then has been an emotional and physical rollercoaster.

I’m currently undergoing intensive inpatient chemotherapy, which includes both injections and oral medications. As of April 18th, my medical team confirmed that I will need to continue this treatment intermittently over the next 8 months. The process is demanding, both physically and financially.

While my insurance has been able to cover 94 of the 168 necessary injection treatments, that still leaves a significant number uncovered — along with many other out-of-pocket medical expenses that continue to add up. I’ve also applied for short-term disability, which helps cover about 60% of my income, but it's still not enough to keep up with all the costs coming my way.

As someone who has always tried to manage on my own, asking for help doesn't come easy. But right now, I’m facing a difficult road ahead and I’m learning that sometimes, it’s okay to lean on others. Your support — whether it's through a donation, a share, or just kind words — means the world to me and helps lift some of the weight off my shoulders during this fight.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for standing with me during this challenging time.
