Support the Family of Purple Heart Combat Veteran Daniel Olsen
We are raising funds to support Mallory Olsen and her three children—Ansley, Addison, and Ezekiel—after the heartbreaking, unexpected loss of her husband, Daniel Alan Olsen. Daniel was not only a devoted husband and loving father — he was a decorated United States Army combat veteran who served his country with honor and distinction. After enlisting in 2007, Daniel served as an Infantryman with the 1-27 Infantry Regiment "Wolfhounds" Sniper Section, 25th Infantry Division. He earned the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat, as well as the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, multiple Army Commendation Medals, and other honors recognizing his courage, service, and sacrifice. Above all else, Daniel was family. He chose to work as a stay-at-home dad, raising the children, caring for the home, and building a life filled with support, laughter, and love.
In the aftermath of Daniel’s death, Mallory and the children are facing overwhelming financial strain. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has stopped Daniel’s retirement and disability benefits, which were essential to the family’s stability. Those benefits cannot be reinstated in Mallory’s name until a lengthy, bureaucratic process is completed — a process that requires Daniel’s official death certificate, which may take weeks or even months to be issued. This leaves Mallory — a grieving widow and now full-time primary caregiver — without the financial support she and the children desperately need.
All funds raised will go directly toward supporting Mallory and the children with rent and housing stability, food, utilities, transportation, daily living expenses, childcare, school-related costs, medical, counseling, family support needs, legal fees, and financial stability during the VA benefits transition.
The widow and children of a Purple Heart combat veteran should not be left in financial uncertainty while they are grieving, parenting, and waiting for systems to catch up. If you can donate, thank you. If you cannot donate, please share this campaign—every share raises awareness and brings hope to this family during the hardest time of their lives.
