It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden and tragic passing of Nick Tzotzis, beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, at the age of 71.

Nick was not just a family man; he was the proud owner of Angela Pizzeria, a Montreal institution for over 40 years. Angela's was much more than just a restaurant—it was a symbol of resilience, community spirit, and true Montreal flavor. Known for serving up the city’s best pizza, delicious burgers, pastas, and legendary poutines, it has been a place where Montrealers could always find a warm meal, even during the toughest times.

One of the most memorable moments in Angela’s history was during the infamous ice storm. While much of the city shut down, Angela Pizzeria continued to serve Montrealers in the cold and darkness, lit only by candlelight. Nick’s mother, Yiayia, who is now grieving the loss of her second son, was there, making dough by hand for pizzas that were baked in gas ovens. It was a testament to the family’s dedication to the community and their unwavering spirit, providing comfort and warmth when the city needed it most.

Angela Pizzeria was also known for its hospitality, serving everyone from local families to celebrities, including unforgettable moments like catering for Steven Tyler and his crew and serving John Travolta.

With Nick’s untimely passing, Angela Pizzeria will sadly have to close its doors. His family, who relied on the business for their livelihood, now faces the dual burden of mourning his loss and navigating the financial challenges ahead.
