Our community was shaken to its core on Tuesday, September 30th. Lieutenant Brian Bizzell — a husband, father, and a firefighter who dedicated his life to protecting others — was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident.
Brian didn’t just wear the badge. He lived its meaning. For more than 27 years, he ran toward danger so others could be safe. He spent his career saving strangers, mentoring new firefighters, and serving his community with courage, professionalism, and compassion. His crew at Fire Station 31 knew him as a steady leader. Tulsa knew him as a protector. His family knew him as their rock.
Now, in this darkest hour, it is our turn to protect them.
Brian leaves behind his beloved wife - a public school teacher, and two children. This family stood behind him through sleepless nights, dangerous calls, and long shifts away from home. They should not face this road alone.
We are asking our neighbors, and all who honor our firefighters, to step forward for the Bizzell family. Every dollar raised will directly to the family through the Tulsa Firefighters Benevolent Fund (501c3), ensuring direct support to his widow and children. This is more than charity — it is the community saying: we see your sacrifice, we honor your service, and we will not leave your family behind.
Brian spent his life answering the call. Today, we ask you to answer his.
Please give generously. Please share widely. And please keep the Bizzell family, and Brian’s brothers and sisters at Tulsa Fire, in your prayers.
