Support the Family of Jesse Boland

My name is Kelsey Boillat and my very dear friend Becky (Boland) McConnell, her brother, Jim Boland, and mother, Michelle Boland, recently suffered a devastating loss with the unexpected death of their brother/son, Jesse Boland. I started this fundraiser in the hopes we can show our support by helping to cover funeral and other expenses that accompany this tragic news.

At the beginning of this week, Jesse developed a significant headache that got progressively worse as time went on. On Wednesday, August 30, Michelle woke to a concerning noise coming from Jesse’s room and when she opened the door she found him having a seizure. Jesse was rushed to the local hospital where the first round of testing was inconclusive, then transferred to a larger hospital where further testing showed a blood clot in his brain. There he underwent an emergency craniotomy that successfully removed the clot, however doctors were unable to control the swelling and bleeding in his brain and Jesse ultimately passed at 9:23pm that evening with his mother, doting sister, and four longtime friends at his side.

Becky was 14 when Jesse was born and, given the age difference, she treasured her little brother like a second mom and served as an incredible role model for him as he grew up. His passing would have been devastating regardless of the timing but it follows Becky’s recent and grueling (but thankfully successful!) battle with stage 3 breast cancer.

It is hard to fathom the amount of pain and suffering Michelle, Jimmy and Becky have endured in recent years, but I hope you will consider donating if you are able to do so or, if not, find another way to let the family know they are in your thoughts during this difficult time.
