Support the Family of Fallen Firefighter, Andrew Cross

Friday morning, Andrew Cross, a 27-year-old volunteer firefighter with the Morrill Fire Department, was among those who responded to Robbins Lumber in Searsmont for a reported fire in one of the mill’s silos. While firefighters were working to suppress the fire, an explosion occurred. Andrew was killed in the line of duty while serving his community.

Andrew answered the call to help others and did not come home. His loss is being felt deeply by his family, loved ones, fellow firefighters, first responders, and the communities of Morrill, Searsmont, and Waldo County.

The response from the community has already been a reflection of how much people want to honor Andrew, support his family, and stand with the fire service during this loss. This fundraiser is intended to provide a central place for those who wish to contribute directly to Andrew’s family and loved ones.

All funds raised will be given to Andrew’s family and loved ones as they navigate the days ahead.

Please keep Andrew’s family, the Morrill Fire Department, the firefighters and first responders involved, and everyone affected by the Robbins Lumber tragedy in your thoughts.

Andrew showed up for his community. Now we have the opportunity to show up for him and for the people who loved him.
