Support the Family of Cleve "Pokey" Brown
Donation protected
I am Julie Porath, the School Social Worker at Crossroads Elementary. I am helping to raise money on behalf of Nancy Brown for the Cleve Brown Family. Crossroads Elementary has been blessed to have had all of Nancy and Cleve Brown's children attend our school over the years. Cleve would drop his children off every morning for school and pick them up at the end of the school day. You could frequently hear Mr. Brown say to his children, "Have a Good Day!". Cleve lived for his children. One fond memory that his daughter Nadia will never forget is she and her dad going to get Pho together.
On the evening of June 27, Cleve "Pokey" lost control of his motorcycle and suffered critical injuries that required surgery. While medical staff did everything they could, Cleve's injuries were far too extensive. He died Tuesday June 28, at Regions Hospital, with his wife Nancy at his side and his children were able to say their goodbyes to him.
As you can imagine, going from a two-income household of eight to a one-income household of seven is a significant loss all by itself. All money raised will directly go to Nancy to support the family with rent and basic needs over the next few months while she regains her footing without Cleve.
Any donation, no matter how small, is of tremendous help to Nancy and the kids. She has lost her best friend of 24 years and trying to figure out what life looks like without him. While Nancy is trying to remain as strong as possible for her children, we hope we can lessen the burden of financial worries for her.
