On September 28, our dear friend and brother, Abamekeze Biame Meh, known to all of us as “Cannavaro,” was tragically killed in a hit-and-run in Lexington, Kentucky. He was walking near an intersection when a reckless driver struck him and then fled the scene. He was pronounced dead about 15 minutes later.
This isn’t just a news headline, it’s the loss of a life full of hopes, love, and dreams. Cannavaro was more than a name; he was a brother, a friend, someone who brought light into all our lives. His sudden, senseless passing has left us with grief that words can hardly encompass.
Cannavaro was not only a beloved friend and brother, he was also a dedicated U.S. Army veteran who served his country with honor and pride. He was disciplined, kind, and always put others before himself. After his service, he continued to embody the same loyalty and courage that defined him in uniform.
We are raising these funds for three essential purposes:
1. Funeral & Memorial — To give Cannavaro the dignified farewell he deserves and to bring his loved ones together in mourning and remembrance.
2. Support for His Family — To help ease the financial burden on those who survive him — family members, children, siblings — during this devastating time.
3. Justice Effort — To raise awareness of his case, support any legal or investigative costs, and demand accountability from authorities. We will not let this crime fade into silence.
Every dollar raised will go directly to his family and to efforts connected to honoring his memory and seeking justice. No one should be driven away from helping when a life hangs in the balance.
We ask you to donate, share, and speak up. Share across your social circles, social media, places of worship, anywhere and everywhere. Let Cannavaro’s name be remembered, and let the community stand with his family.
Rest in peace, Cannavaro. Your spirit lives in our stories, our hearts, and our fight for justice. You will never be forgotten.
