I am raising this fundraiser for the family behind Domingo, a small family-owned Mexican restaurant in Little Elm, Texas. A year ago, I visited the restaurant and met an owner who had poured so much of himself into making his dream real. When I recently came back to surprise him during his final days in business, I learned how heavy this season has been for this husband and wife. Domingo will be closing on October 31 after economic challenges, immigration-related concerns affecting business, and fewer customers coming through the doors made it too hard to keep going. The owner built the restaurant from the ground up with no experience, just hard work, courage, and heart. His wife also had to take another job to help cover their household bills while he kept doing everything he could to hold on.
This fundraiser is to help this family as they step into life after the restaurant closes. Donations will help with everyday living expenses and give them a little breathing room while they figure out what comes next. What stays with me most is the owner’s pride in what he built and the quiet heartbreak of having to let that dream go. If you are able, please donate to support the family behind Domingo during this difficult transition. If you cannot give right now, please share their story. Every act of kindness can help remind this family that they are not alone as one chapter ends and another begins.
