I’m a close family friend of the Murguia family, and I’ve created this GoFundMe to support both families as they face the immense financial burden brought on by this heartbreaking tragedy.
We are devastated by this loss, and our hearts are with everyone affected.
On September 25, 2025, two 13-year-old boys, David Alexander Murguia Jr and Diego Rubio, tragically lost their lives in an unimaginable accident on I25 in Greenwood Village. Both boys were on their way to soccer training, doing what they loved most, when their bright futures were suddenly taken from them.
These young athletes were more than just teammates. They were sons, brothers, friends, students, and shining lights in their communities. They shared a deep passion for soccer and brought joy, energy, and dedication to the field and to everyone around them.
Since this tragedy, so many people have been asking how they can help. In response, we have created this fundraiser to support both families during this devastating time.
All donations will be split equally between the two families to help cover:
• Funeral and memorial expenses
• Emotional support and grief counseling
• Any additional financial burdens they may face
