For the past several years, Melanie and Anthony Fabbri poured everything they had—time, energy, savings, and heart—into Amici Pizzeria. What started as a dream to build a stable future for their family became a daily grind of long hours, sacrifices, and constant pressure to keep the doors open in an increasingly unforgiving industry. Anthony worked day and night running the business, often without taking a paycheck, doing whatever it took to keep Amici going. Melanie stood beside him through it all, supporting their family while navigating the stress, uncertainty, and emotional toll that comes with owning a small business. Like so many independent restaurant owners, they kept pushing forward, believing hard work would eventually be enough.
After much thought—and a lot of heartbreak—they made the incredibly difficult decision to close Amici Pizzeria. It wasn’t a failure of effort or commitment. It was a reality check brought on by rising costs, financial strain, and years of operating in survival mode. Now, as they transition out of the business, Melanie and Anthony are facing a tough financial gap. Bills don’t pause just because a dream ends, and the weight of closing has left them needing support while they work to stabilize their family and figure out their next steps.
On behalf of Cookin’ For The Cause & Jersey Pizza Coalition we’re setting up a Fundraiser to help the Fabbri Family! This fundraiser is not about handouts—it’s about helping good people catch their breath after years of giving everything they had. Any contribution will go directly toward essential living expenses, outstanding bills, and giving them the breathing room they need to move forward without drowning. If Amici ever fed you, welcomed you, made you laugh, or felt like home—even just once—this is a chance to give a little of that back. Thank you for reading, sharing, donating, or simply keeping Melanie and Anthony in your thoughts. Every bit of support matters more than you know.
