The Expansion of The Burns and The Bees
Donation protected
We are a husband and wife beekeeping team, living in Dandridge. We keep our bees in multiple apiaries in East Tennessee from Knoxville to the beautiful mountains near the North Carolina boarder. We started this beekeeping journey right after Aaron brewed up our first batch of mead for our 2007 Fall wedding. Now in our 12th year, our love, our honey and our dream is as sweet as ever and we are still focused on building a fun, vital and sustainable business.
For the past 6 years Aaron has been a full time beekeeper, managing our own colonies as well as working for Doug Slocum, founder of "Doug's Other Honey". Recently, Doug has made us an offer that we just can't pass up. An offer that will change the course of our business and the course our lives.

The Burns and The Bees has been offered to buy out "Doug's Other Honey" for an amazing deal! Not only would we acquire over 120+ more colonies and equipment for 200 more, we would also acquire a line of Maxant Honey Extraction equipment, bottling tanks and stainless steel tables.
With this huge boost our honey bee business is sure to continue to grow. We'd like to share a couple of our future plans with you. Of course we will be present at many more farmers markets, retail locations and festivals but there's so much more to this. This boost will impact us for years and years to come. With a thriving business, we look forward to remodeling an old bait shop that sits on our 10 acres near Douglas Lake. The "Honey Hole" will be a certified kitchen, small meadery, and will provide a stationary location for us to sell our farm goods. Along with retail space we also need permanent education space. We plan to build a pavilion for our workshops and education programs, allowing us to better accommodate individuals, families and large groups with simple, comfortable, off grid facilities.

So if you've put our raw honey on a hot biscuit or in a cup of tea...
If you've lit our candles to brighten a room or hung a sweet smelling ornament during the holidays...
If you've sipped a cold honey soda on a hot day or cured your strep throat with our propolis tincture....
If you've attended our programs or speaking events or even bought our bees because you wanted your own...
Or maybe you just know how important our work is...we need your support to keep this good thing going!
With financial contributions from our community we can continue this unique business. There are no words to express our thanks for those of you who choose to support us in this way. We have built this business with love, dedication and support from others and that is what will also keep it alive! Thank you.
