Hi, my name is Kuira, and I’m the oldest daughter of Jeffrey Estes—our incredible dad, who has touched so many lives with his kindness, laughter, and love.

A few days ago, our dad suffered a sudden and devastating medical emergency. Despite the efforts of doctors and nurses, his condition has not improved, and we’ve come to face the most painful decision of our lives. Soon, we will be making the decision to take him off life support and say goodbye. 

It’s impossible to put into words what we’re feeling. Our hearts are broken. My sister Bralyn, my little brother Ayden, and I are doing our best to stay strong and hold each other close. Ayden’s mom, Alicia, as well as mine and bralyns mom, Marie, has also been by our side through this. Together, we’ve been surrounding our dad with love and trying to make sure he knows he’s not alone.

Our dad was the center of our world. He worked hard to take care of us, made us laugh with his silly jokes, and always showed up with love and support when we needed it most. We’ll carry those memories with us forever.

We’re asking for help as we begin to navigate life without him. The costs of his medical care, final arrangements, and caring for our family are more than we can manage alone.
