On Saturday, February 7, Skaneateles native Neil Estes was the victim of a hit and run as he was snow blowing his neighbor's driveway. The driver, who has yet to be identified, struck Neil and left the scene, leaving him with multiple injuries. Neil underwent surgery on his leg and will remain hospitalized for some time as he begins a long road to recovery.

This sudden and traumatic event has deeply impacted the Estes Family. Neil will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, and his wife Emilie will be balancing caretaking responsibilities with her own work as they support their two teenage sons. The emotional and financial strain is immense, and the family is facing mounting medical bills and daily living expenses while Neil heals.
