Hi there! We are a group of engineers from California State Maritime Academy looking to raise funds for an "overnight" during our Summer Sea Term on the Training Ship Golden Bear.

Unlike the typical summer sea term that you may have seen where groups of students are simply passengers traveling the world on a cruise ship, we do it differently. Instead of getting to spend time suntanning out on deck, we are actively working for two whole months. Not only do we just work, we learn and participate in training that will prepare us for the industry we are going into. The only time we usually get breaks is when we arrive in ports. This is where we are looking to spend these funds.

Historically, the upperclassmen within the division, 4E (4th Engine), will go around and raise a little money. This is to help pay for an overnight onshore to get a break from the rigors of the ship. This will also help us financially support anyone who cannot pay even partially for an expensive shore stay in foreign countries. These funds will help pay in full for not only the upperclass overnight, but will also be given to freshmen to make sure that they have the best experience possible.
