Help the Ederys rebuild their lives

Donation protected
My name is Lori Ortkiese.  I live in Georgia and am trying to help a neighbor recover from a disaster that has left her with nothing except her children.  Before this disaster, which occurred on February 28, 2020, Simona and I had never met.  You are receiving this GoFundMe notification because I believe you are part of Simona’s support community.  If you are receiving this in error, please accept my apologies.

The monies collected in this campaign will help Simona get back on her feet in many ways.  The exact ways, as of yet, are to be determined.  Her homeowners’ insurance covers most of the loss but not everything.  These campaign monies will allow her to purchase mattresses, furniture, linens, kitchenware, dinnerware, dining and serving utensils… anything a family needs to live.  Any additional monies will go toward the construction of her replacement home.

Shortly after Simona’s family home was lost, we began dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic and her restaurant, Café Posh, is certainly affected.  While she has been dealing with having two children homeschooling, dealing with the shock and loss of everything she’s ever had, working with insurance agents, fire marshals, hazardous materials inspectors, general contractors, architects, and being a mom, she has also had to work with her employees to find the best ways to get them thru this period and try to keep Café Posh still in the black.

At this time, the best things you can do are to 1. Support Café Posh, 2. donate monies to this campaign, and 3. Pray for her and her little family.  Due to many other losses in her life, her only family are her three children and they need our prayers.

GoFundMe has asked me to add more personal information to this campaign and have withheld Simona’s donated monies to date until I do.  Fortunately, donations are still being accepted.

Thank you for your consideration, on behalf of Simona.  This community has been incredibly generous thus far, and Simona hopes to be able to thank every one of us individually.

ORIGINAL POST:

Simona Edery is the owner of Café Posh and a single mom of three.  On February 28, she tragically lost her home and all of her belongings in a house fire. Nothing was salvageable, including all mementos of her late husband.  She and her kids are safe thankfully and staying in a hotel while she tries to find a rental in her children’s school district.  Her insurance will cover rebuilding her home, minus 2,000 sq ft.   She needs everything.  1. A rental in the Heards Ferry school district with three or four bedrooms.  2. When she finds a rental she will need furniture, kitchen goods, dining supplies, linens, etc. 3. Money to help fund rebuilding her home and furnishing it beyond the insurance shortfall.
