Support the Eckerts in Their Time of Loss

My name is Bill Dailey, and Patrick Eckert has been a friend I have worked with at Skyline Solar for the past 6 years. Throughout that time, Patrick, his wife Angela, and their children Mia and Emily have provided around-the-clock care to their son and brother, Joseph Patrick Eckert, affectionately known as Joey or JoJo.

Joey was born on July 24, 2003, with an extremely rare chromosome abnormality. This made for a very tough life full of medical battles along the way. Seizures were a constant part of this difficult battle, but Pat and Angela did an amazing job finding ways to carry on so he could enjoy life and his family. The family prioritized every move they made around Joey, and he was always the center of their universe.

Unfortunately, in April, Joey's seizures became uncontrolled, and he had to be admitted to the ICU. He was administered a drug called Propofol to help with his seizures. This drug, used in high doses over extended time periods, can cause Propofol Infusion Syndrome. This syndrome caused devastating effects to Joey's vital organs and ultimately claimed his life on Sunday, May 4th, 2025.

Despite everything Joey went through medically, he is remembered by all as a happy-go-lucky boy who loved country music, silly videos of his sisters, and memorizing verbatim his favorite show, Curious George!

Joey also loved the water and was happiest feeling the ocean waves or the pool at the YMCA.

His presence will be missed beyond words, and Pat, Angela, Emily, and Mia now have to plan a funeral for their son and brother. This will bring enormous costs for a family that has already experienced all the costs of medical care for the past two decades. I'm asking you to donate anything you can to help relieve the Eckerts of any financial worries during this most difficult time of their life so they can concentrate on their unimaginable grief.
