✨ 8/1 UPDATE ✨
I had a visit with neurology last week who is working together with cardiology which I saw yesterday. They confirmed the hole and the aneurysm in the wall that separates the upper chambers of my heart (PFO, atrial septal aneurysm with R-L shunting). I had an echo done with positive bubble-study which not only showed the hole and aneurysm but confirmed that there is right-to-left shunting—(which means deoxygenated blood is flowing from the right upper chamber into the left upper chamber and out into my bloodstream to my body, carrying with it waste and possible blood clots and/or air bubbles which could travel directly to my brain and cause massive stroke) which is not the normal, (usually shunting allows left-to-right blood flow and is not as dangerous-as that would allow oxygenated/filtered blood into the blood stream) so cardiologist has changed some of my meds and is sending me to a specialist for closure procedure. Until that time I am still very high-risk for massive stroke and still have several issues with shortness of breath and low energy. Im also dealing with continued rough-patches with speech, cognition, equilibrium, and right-sided issues at times still as well. Each day is different in this journey so far. I find that most days have very good instances as well as some very tough instances even still. My words come out completely normal and coherent at times, other times I stumble over words, stutter or generally just cannot communicate like I need to at all. Sometimes I can walk and move just fine, other times I am falling all over the place, stumbling, my legs will give out on me, I will drop things, lose grip or have major weakness and tremor in my right hand/arm and leg, it all just varies throughout the day. It is especially worse with emotional or mental stressors, anxiety or worry/stress. Sometimes I can walk without needing aide, other times I am clinging to my Leon or my Nova, or even Nana Sissy just to get to a sitting position safely to keep from falling and getting hurt. Patience is key I’m finding and I’m so grateful for the strength and patience of those around me to get me through the days. Sometimes my smile looks normal, other times I have a half-face smile while the other half just tries its best. But Im getting there, and hopefully in the meantime of waiting to see this specialist for repair only good and positivity continues for us. I just wanted to give an update to anyone interested in how things are going and let you all know that I truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers and to anyone reaching out to help support us through this journey, I can’t express my gratitude to you all. Also to everyone helping my Nova with his football adventures, his friends and his friends parents (Landon, Deanna), his coaches (Glen L Hale Jr.) and his teammates (Chase) I cannot tell you all how much I appreciate you during this time especially. Thank you everyone for your love and your prayers. I will update again when we get to see the specialist and have more of a plan/timeline. I am also keeping the goFundMe open and it is posted on my Facebook page along with our CashApp info and Venmo for anyone who would like to help-We appreciate you all ❤️ #StrokeAwareness #abortedStroke #TNK #CVA #TIA #ASD #PFO #heartwarrior

Some of you know, but alot of you dont, On July 1st I suffered a CVA-ischemic Stroke. I was thankfully at work at the hospital when it occurred and was able to receive life-saving measures quickly, however it has caused some lasting deficits and we have learned of other health issues which more than likely caused the stroke. Cardiac workup revealed that I have whats called Atrial Septal Defect-a hole in the wall that separates the upper chambers of my heart, as well as an Aneurysm, and shunting-which allows deoxygenated and waste-filled blood to enter my blood stream. This makes me at a much higher risk of massive stroke. Due to all of the recovery and treatments/possible surgery, I will be out of work for a couple of months or more until I am able to get treatment/care for the underlying causes. So, once again I am reaching out for help for my family. I will have several appointments, cardiology, neurology and neurosurgery who will all work together in my care to decide if/when I am able to have the surgery for repair and will create a treatment plan according to how safe it will be to do so, or if I will need neurosurgery as well. I am still having alot of issues with speech, cognition and mobility but i am Thankful to God that its not worse than it is. If you see me in public and I don’t recognize you or remember your name, please know its not on purpose. I may stutter or have difficulty speaking and may have issues walking and using my right arm/hand, some days so far are better than others. These deficits may resolve over time, or some of them could be lifelong. I am reaching out for help for my family as we go through yet another health crisis, after just last year you all helped us through Leons massive heart attack. We have been living healthy, dieting and doing things right, but it just seems the inevitable comes regardless of how prepared or healthy you think you are. I truly appreciate everyone who is able to help us, yet again. And I hope God blesses each and every one of you 10-fold. And-if anything happens or changes for the better or for the worse, please know You are a blessing to my family and I appreciate each and every one of you more than you will ever know. I thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥️. -Danielle. if anyone doesn’t use goFundMe and would like to donate directly to cashApp you can send to:
