Hi, I'm raising funds on behalf of my grandmother Nana as she tragically lost her family home, and all of her belongings in the horrific Eaton fire that ravaged the Altadena area this past week. She's currently in recovery and I hope to do what I can to help support them in their time of need.
Statement from my Nana:
"Hello, My name is Deborah, and I lived in Altadena CA. My house horrifically burned down during the Fires. This was my Parent's home for 47 years. When my parents went to do missionary work My Brother and his wife moved into the home until my Parents retired. Mom died and then Dad died. I then moved in at this time, after the loss of my parents, to be closer to my brother and his wife. We lost EVERYTHING. We received an evacuation notice at 2am on Tuesday, Jan 7, 2025 and we only had time to find our 2 cats and our dog. We were able to take our cats but our Dog could not be found. You go to bed and say "Good night" to Everyone just to wake up and your whole world is burnt to ashes.
We are starting this GOFUNDME since we have nothing at this time. My adopted daughter is disabled and relies solely on me; any donations you can spare will greatly help us with new clothes, toiletries, medications, and temporary housing. Please never take Anything for Granted you never know when the unexpected will happen. "
Why We Need Your Help:
Rebuilding their lives after such devastation will take time, strength, and financial support. Your donations will go directly toward helping the Dysons with immediate needs such as temporary housing, clothing, food, and basic essentials. Our goal is to help them regain a sense of stability as they navigate this difficult journey.
How You Can Help:
The Eaton Fire has turned our world upside down, leaving us heartbroken and trying to pick up the pieces. In an instant, we lost everything—our childhood home, a place that held decades of memories, laughter, and love. That home was more than just four walls; it was the heart of our family. Losing it feels like losing a part of ourselves.
We’re struggling to come to terms with the devastation and the heartbreak of starting over from nothing. The pain of knowing that so many of the irreplaceable pieces of our past are gone forever is overwhelming, but we are holding on to each other and the hope that brighter days will come.
We are reaching out to our community, our friends, and kind-hearted strangers to ask for your help during this incredibly difficult time. Any support—whether it’s a donation, a share of our story, or a kind message—means the world to us. Every little bit will help us rebuild, heal, and move forward. No donation is too small—every dollar makes a difference. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your network can help spread the word and bring much-needed support.
Thank you for holding our family in your hearts and for helping us find hope in the midst of this tragedy. Your love and generosity remind us that we are not alone.
With love and gratitude,
The Dyson Family
