Supporting the Dugas Family During an Unimaginable Medical Crisis
I am organizing this fundraiser as a dear friend of the Dugas family. Beth and I met in the hospital when our daughters were just four months old and undergoing heart surgery. A bond was formed during one of the hardest moments of our lives, and we have remained close ever since. I know firsthand the strength, kindness, and selflessness of this family, and I also know they would never ask for help unless it was truly needed.
The Dugas family is facing an overwhelming and heartbreaking medical crisis—one that has unfolded suddenly and changed their lives in a matter of days.
Their daughter Madison, who has Down syndrome, has ongoing medical needs and is currently hospitalized. Kenny, Madison’s dad and primary caregiver, has always been by her side—caring for her daily, advocating for her needs, and staying with her in the hospital while Beth, her mom, works full time to support their family.
During this already difficult time, the family was faced with another devastating blow. Kenny suffered a stroke, and while doctors were working to determine the cause, they discovered something even more shocking—Kenny has leukemia. The diagnosis was sudden and unexpected, leaving the family facing an uncertain road ahead.
Beth is now carrying an unimaginable load. As the sole provider, she continues working full time while traveling 45 minutes to an hour each day to the hospital, ensuring their son Parker can continue attending school and maintain some sense of normalcy during this crisis. With Kenny hospitalized and facing serious illness, Beth may soon need to take time away from work—placing significant financial strain on the family.
The Dugas family has faced every challenge with grace, love, and unwavering devotion—especially to Madison, who brings so much light and joy to everyone who knows her. Right now, they need the support of their community more than ever.
